How long are quotes valid?

Prices are based upon predictable costs at time of quotation. Variances in design, material, or labor costs for your metal fabrication project may necessitate a revision of offered price.  Price quotation(s) and or other agreement(s) are valid for a period of thirty (30) days from issue date unless otherwise stated in writing, subject to cost variance adjustments referred to above.

Who is my initial contact person?

Your initial contact person would be Travis Kind, VP of Operations, at tkind@colbymetal.com. Travis is a expert in every step of the metal fabrication and metal manufacturing process and can ensure you get exactly what you need.

Are there shipping and handling fees?

All shipments are F.O.B Colby, WI unless otherwise stated in writing.  Colby Metal Inc. assumes no liability for materials damaged by commercial or common carrier.  Colby Metal, Inc. requires notification of discrepancies on packing slips and/or freight damage within five (5) days of receipt of shipment.

What are your payment terms?

On approval of credit, payment terms will be established.  A late charge of 1-1/2% per month (18% per annum), or $30 per month, whichever is greater, may be added to accounts past due.  Invoices shall be paid in U.S. dollars.

 

A $30.00 handling fee shall be assessed on all returned checks.  Should collection or legal action become necessary to collect an account, the purchaser agrees to pay all reasonable costs including, but not limited to, collection agency fees, attorney’s fees, whether or not suit is commenced, and including any such fees and costs incurred because of bankruptcy proceedings and court costs.

Do you have a Quality Management Team?

Part of the Colby Metal promise is unmatched quality and unequaled service in all our custom metal fabrication projects. Colby Metal, Inc. has a Quality Management Team that consists of our Quality/Co-Plant Manager, Jeff Zettler and Co-Plant Manager, Mike Geiger, Purchasing Manager and Account Rep. Tyler Viegut, VP of Operations, Travis Kind, and our Owner/Human Resource Director, Darla Viegut.

Are your orders under warranty?

Colby Metal, Inc. warrants materials and workmanship to be free of defects for a period of ninety (90) days after original shipment date. Colby Metal, Inc. offers no recourse for items found defective or damaged for any cause reported ninety (90) or more days after original shipment date.  Colby Metal, Inc. is not responsible for physical damage to material/parts while in the possession of the purchaser.  Except as stated in the preceding sentence, Colby Metal, Inc. makes no warranties or representations of any nature, expressed or implied.  Purchaser expressly acknowledges that there are not implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular use or purpose.

Who is responsible for tooling charges?

Tooling charges may be subject to special billing and payment requirements. Unless otherwise stated, all such orders are subject to a 50% tooling down payment.  Remaining charges are payable upon approval of first parts fabricated on said tool.

Tooling payments shall be presented in conjunction with respective material/part orders and a subject to Colby Metal, Inc.’s order acceptance provisions.

Does Colby Metal, Inc. do on-site visits?

Yes, Colby Metal, Inc. is more than willing to do an on-site visit.

Are plant tours an option?

Absolutely, we encourage plant tours of our metal fabrication shop. We welcome current and potential customers to see our incredible team hard at work on their welding and powder coating. Contact our Office Manager, Evonne Rannow to plan.

What is your standard lead time?

Standard lead time is 3 weeks.

What is your turn around time for quote requests?

Colby Metal, Inc. has a standard turn around time of 2 business days for all quote requests. This is subject to change depending on the complexity of the request.
